Add Mamori to the server
Use the Add to Discord button. Mamori asks for the permissions it needs to create channels, manage roles and moderate. You can install it without paying and without a card.
Setup
Live in about ten minutes.
Five steps, and you can stop after any of them. Nothing here needs a card, and the first three work on the free plan.
Build the layout, or skip it
Run /setup and pick a template, or describe the server you want. Mamori shows a preview of every channel, role and permission it would create and builds nothing until you press confirm. Skip this entirely if the server already exists.
Say where it may speak
Run /config channel enable in each channel where Mamori is allowed to answer. It stays silent everywhere else, including channels it created itself.
Upload what it should know
Run /kb upload with your rules, FAQ or handbook. Accepted types are .md, .txt, .pdf, .html up to 10 MB per file. Mamori splits each document into passages and indexes them.
Uploads need a paid plan. On the free plan the knowledge base stays closed and /ask has nothing to answer from.
Turn on the modules you want
Everything else lives on the dashboard as a switch: protection, welcome and auto role, quiet hours, cleanup and the scheduled jobs. 12 modules in total, each one off until you turn it on.

What does the free plan actually include?
Everything except answers. Server setup, tickets, automod, the mod log, role panels and 6 of the 12 modules all work on the free plan, on one server, with no card. What it does not include is the knowledge base: you cannot upload documents and Mamori will not answer questions from them. That half starts at $5 a month.
Where do the answers come from?
Only from the documents you upload to that server. Mamori retrieves the closest passages and answers from those alone. When nothing matches closely enough it says it does not know, records the question for your admins, and stops. It does not fall back on general knowledge about your server.
What happens when the monthly quota runs out?
Mamori stops answering until the 1st and tells anyone who asks. Everything that is not AI keeps running: tickets, automod, role panels, modules, the dashboard. There is no overage billing, so the quota running out costs you nothing.
Can it spend more than my plan?
No, and that is deliberate. Three limits stack: a fixed number of answers per server per month, a per-user cap of 25 a day with a cooldown between requests, and a cache that serves repeat questions from storage for free. A request has to clear all three before anything is spent.
Does Mamori need the Administrator permission?
Not for the ordinary features. It needs Manage Channels and Manage Roles to build a layout, and the moderation permissions for the moderation commands. The one thing that does require full Administrator is the admin assistant, because it writes and edits messages in your channels.
How many servers does one plan cover?
One server on the free, Starter and Pro plans. Network covers 10 servers on a single subscription.
What happens to a ticket when it is closed?
The transcript is written to storage first, then posted to your transcript channel, then the channel is removed after a short countdown so nobody is cut off mid sentence. If you would rather keep the channels, set /ticket setup on_close to archive and they are moved and locked read only instead.
Why is it called Mamori?
Mamori (守) is Japanese for to guard or to protect. The bot is built around refusing to guess and refusing to overspend, so the name is the whole idea in one word.
What do you store, and can I get it deleted?
Uploaded documents and their passages, ticket transcripts, moderation records and one row per AI request for cost accounting. The privacy notice lists every table and how long it is kept, and /kb wipe removes a server knowledge base on demand.
